About our Guest Speaker, Diana Shockley:

Founded in Carmichael, CA in 2018, I Love Pie Bakeshop was launched by tenacious and passionate entrepreneur, Diana Shockley.
She loved to bake and grew up inspired by her mother’s attention to detail and delicious sweet and savory recipes. “My mom spent a lot of time in the kitchen making elaborate Mexican dishes from scratch. She loved sharing her food with others, especially her baked treats like Pan de Elote and Empanadas. My childhood bus driver looked forward to her cookies.”

Diana attended culinary school with the intent to open a bakery someday and became fascinated with making pies. With her culinary training that filled the gaps and her business acumen, she started her home-based cottage food business making pies with her daughter (10 at the time) and selling them at the local farmers market on the weekend. “I loved my job but I always looked forward to the weekends baking and talking to my customers at the market”
She quickly gained a following and after a year and a half, she opened a brick-and-mortar storefront in August 2019. In July 2022 the business found a larger space and permanent location inside the Milagro Centre in Carmichael.
“Besides baking for our kind and loyal customers, my favorite part of owning a business is being an employer and having an amazing team. Being in a position to teach, mentor, and inspire people on my team is such a gift. I dream of having a really big team someday.”
